A Real-Time Profile for UML and How to Adapt It to SDL
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents work of the IST project OMEGA, where we have defined a UML profile for real-time that is compatible with the Profile for Performance, Scheduling and Real-time recently accepted at OMG. In contrast to this OMG profile, we put emphasis on semantics and on its use in the context of timed analysis of real-time embedded systems. The defined profile is compatible with the time concepts existing in SDL, and we show how we can also adapt these notations to SDL and MSC, which do not yet have a notation for this purpose.

UML and Real-time Systems
UML has traditionally been used to specify object-oriented software systems. With its rising popularity, the desire to use it for various vertical domains have grown stronger, and in this paper we focus on requirements from the realtime domain. In particular, we look at how tools and features from the real-time domain have affected the standardization efforts when further developing the next ge...
متن کاملUML and the Tasks Specific to Real-Time Development
The use of UML for developing real-time systems is rapidly gaining attention from the industry. The future release of a response to the OMG RFP for a “UML profile for performance, scheduling and time” [1] will probably boost the acceptance of UML by the real-time development community. The team formed inside OMG’s Real-Time Analysis and Design working group, preparing the response to the above ...

متن کاملJavaFrame: Framework for Java Enabled Modelling
Support for the modelling of large, complex (and especially real-time) systems has recently attracted much attention. It is generally agreed that UML does not have adequate mechanisms. Projects using UML [7] therefore do not rely on UML for modelling the overall system structure. They use UML for object modelling (with classes and associations) and for use case/interaction modelling, while syst...
